Communications Request Forms

Student Life Communications is happy to help all Student Life departments with their communications needs wherever possible. Whether it be a brochure, press release, graphic design, videography or social media, our team is happy to help. For website updates, please use the Website Update Request. To submit a design or other asset that your team has created for divisional approval, please use the Design Approval Request.

If you’re unsure what your project needs are, we would love to consult with you on strategy and help you build a plan. Schedule time with our team to make that happen! Communications Request Forms

To allow us to streamline your requests, we have split the requests based on final assets needed.

If your request includes multiple types of projects, please fill out the form for each type of project you are requesting (i.e,. if you need both design and videography, please submit two separate requests, but if your request includes multiple design items for the same project, you can just fill out the design request form one time).

Expected Project Timelines

Please keep in mind that it can take a few weeks to complete projects, and some larger projects may require additional time. Typically, requests should allow two weeks (10 business days) as a turnaround time, but more time may be required for larger requests. When in doubt, submit this form early and we will help you create the proper timeline.

  • Flyer/Poster (time to draft: 10-12 days)
  • Video (time to draft: 16-18 days)
  • Written Story (time to draft: 12-13 days)
  • Digital Signage (time to draft: 9-10 days)
  • Pamphlet/Booklet/Program (time to draft: 28-30 days)
  • Invitation Set/Postcard (time to draft: 10-12 days)
  • New Look, Rebrand, Media Kit (time to draft: 18-22 days)

Revision Process

The revision process for deliverables will be limited to three (3) rounds of back-and-forth edits. This means that when we send you the first draft, you have three opportunities to return it with edits/updates to be made.

To facilitate this process, please be sure that content and intended design concept are approved and finalized by all necessary parties before you submit a communications request. Additionally, please attach finalized content (Word document with verbiage to be included) and inspirational design concept examples to the communications request form (below).

Printing and Brand Approval

Communications does not handle the printing of departmental projects. Design files and instructions will be provided, which you are then responsible for communicating to the printer. We are happy to take part in that process (CCed on emails, assisting with approval of proofs, etc.), but due to shipping and payment options, the orders need to originate from the department they are for.

Communications is also not responsible for submitting final designs to UA’s branding approval process which may take a few days and is required for purchasing anything with UA funds. If Communications designs and/or produces the assets, you will not be required to submit those items for divisional approval.
